5 show down, 4 to go!

Wow! I thought I was going to be able to write more often! Guess not! Reviews are in for our play, the critic, a usually very severe one, was quite positive in his article! He praised all the actors and we were ecstatic! Now we're on a 3 day break which feels good...All of our shows have been extremely successful, with surprisingly large crowds for every single show, including the matinees! I'm gonna be so sad when it's all over; it's so rare to meet so many lovely people from so many different walks of life who are all tied together by the love of performance...wow! Amazing!

I'll probably think of more stuff to write, but that's it for now!

PS: Finally got Facebook....oh boy! My account probably won't last very long, it's such an antisocial contraption!

2 weeks...

You know the typical idea that when one connects oneself to a social media site, it takes two weeks to get over the initial ''OMG! This thing is so cool!'' and start using it less often? Well, I've heard of it anyways...but it's a great thing for me considering the fact that Oliver! is only running for two weeks! Afetr that, I have to get back to the usual hectic life, especially considering the fact that I'm in grade 12 and that I have to figure things out for uni and all...but I'll enjoy blogging for know!

At the moment, I am procrastinating...I have a study period at this time of day and I am seemingly too tired or lazy, whatever you call it, to actually get some homework done...oh well, I'll pay up tonight!

I've decided to add little random ''top'' lists on my blog, just for the fun of it!

Here's my first one:

TOP 4 SONGS I  AM OBSSESSED WITH THIS WEEK:
1. Uptown Girls by Billy Joel
2. Anybody's Heart by Katherine McPhee
3. Moonlight Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven
4. Mr. Sandman by The Chordettes

Some of you may think I'm crazy...I realise that it's a very varied repertoire, but you'll get to learn that about me...I love so many things, it's unreal! I wouldn't think it's a bad thing though!

I will leave you with a quote I am quite fond of, staying on the theme of music and such...
“Music expresses that which can not be said and on which it is impossible to be silent” - Victor Hugo

Ciao!

First time!

Hey whomever is out there!
I've gone modern! I used to write little diary entries once in a while when I went on trips and stuff like that, but only a few people got to read them, and I figure that if I don't indulge in Facebook or Twiter, I can allow myself a blog once in a while, mostly to recall important periods in my life!

Last year, I wrote a diary following my casting as a chorus girl in a production of The King and I...and here we are again in yet another tiring but lovely production, in the world of Lioinel Bart's Oliver!

I will be the first  to admit, I wasn't as thrilled by the musical than I was with the Rodgers' and Hammerstein masterpiece, but with more opportunities for me to get an actual character, I was excited to audition! I did my audition with ''I Have Confidence'' from The Sound of Music...things went well, and I got a phone call about a week later saying that I was cast as Charlotte Sowerberry with two of my castmates from last year as my parents! I was ecstatic! Sooo much better than a chorus girl! (Although I was still to participate in chorus songs and dances!)

And here we are, one day before opening night...how riveting, exciting and scary all at the same time! We have our last dress rehearsal tonight, and then it's off! I'm very excited since I've been sick since Monday and I'm finally feeling a bit better...

Armed with a dress that makes breathing nearly impossible, a fake cockney accent and a fun cast in tow, this show is bound to be an exausting but magnificent one!

Tata till later (which will probably be soon! ;))

PS: I also forgot to mention that my best friend from theatre originally wanted my role and I wanted hers, but I ended up playing Charlotte and she Bet! What an odd coincidence!
